There is no absolute date as to when glorification of Allah or Sufism began. Available evidence suggest that Sufism is as old as the creation of the heaven and Earth, among the occupants of both spheres’ glorification of almighty Allah at all times was their daily activities before it was later introduced to every Prophet of Allah.
The Prophet of Allah secluded themselves at different times for mediation about Allah and his creatures, they isolated themselves from the ungodly acts of their people and thereby indulge themselves in seeking for forgiveness from Allah and the glorification of his holy name.
These Prophet of Allah and their companions did not offer as– Salaat Mohktubat (Compulsory) Five daily prayer, yet they are considered among does who fear Allah most. It was the Holy Prophet (SAW) that was given five daily prayer his followers then, the present and the coming adherents of the religion of Islam.
Even before the holy Prophet of Islam was call upon for Prophethood, what he was doing alone in the cave Hira was mediating with constant remembrance of Allah which is the central theme of Sufism. The other prophets did the same at different time on different occasions.
The present Sufism are the offspring of the later, so far to every chain their most be beginning. Sufism connotes nothing but constant remembrance of Allah as the sole creator of the heaven and the Earth.
